Der Nationalrat hat beschlossen:
1. Der Abschluss des gegenständlichen Staatsvertrages wird gemäß Art. 50 Abs. 1 Z 1 B-VG genehmigt.
2. Die arabische, chinesische, französische, russische und spanische Sprachfassung dieses Staatsvertrages sind gemäß Art. 49 Abs. 2 B-VG dadurch kundzumachen, dass sie zur öffentlichen Einsichtnahme im Bundesministerium für europäische und internationale Angelegenheiten aufliegen.

Die vom Bundespräsidenten unterzeichnete und vom Bundeskanzler gegengezeichnete Beitrittsurkunde wurde am 3. Juni 2009 beim Schweizerischen Bundesrat hinterlegt; das Zusatzprotokoll tritt gemäß seinem Art. 11 Abs. 2 für Österreich am 3. Dezember 2009 in Kraft.
Nach Mitteilungen des Schweizerischen Bundesrates haben folgende weitere Staaten das Zusatzprotokoll ratifiziert bzw. sind diesem beigetreten:
Albanien, Australien, Belize, Brasilien, Bulgarien, Chile, Costa Rica, Dänemark, Deutschland, Dominikanische Republik, El Salvador, Estland, Fidschi, Finnland, Frankreich, Georgien, Griechenland, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Island, Israel, Italien, Kanada, Kasachstan, Kroatien, Lettland, Liechtenstein, Litauen, die ehemalige jugoslawische Republik Mazedonien, Mexiko, Moldau, Monaco, Nicaragua, Niederlande (einschließlich Niederländische Antillen und Aruba), Norwegen, Paraguay, Philippinen, Polen, San Marino, Schweiz, Singapur, Slowakei, Slowenien, Tschechische Republik, Uganda, Ungarn, Vereinigte Staaten, Vereinigtes Königreich, Zypern.
Nachstehende Staaten haben anlässlich der Hinterlegung ihrer Ratifikationsurkunde folgende Vorbehalte erklärt bzw. Erklärungen abgegeben:
